Become An Olive Oil Magnate

Bookmark and Share

Do you dream of making and/or selling olive oil? Are you ready to venture into the olive groves of California, Spain, Italy or Greece -- or maybe even Texas, Australia, or even South Africa?

We would wish you well on such an adventure. But before you embark, you may want to check out these resources, which will help you get a sense of the industry. Some links are personal blogs, others are sites that'll link you with information on markets, retailers and wholesalers. This list will grow!

  • Amelia Oil -- A wonderful blog about one woman's effort to start up a little olive oil biz in Canada, with an Italian connection.
  • The Olive Oil Gazette -- A cool blog with a penetrating eye into the economics and trends in Spanish olive oil.
  • Who's Who in California -- The California Olive Oil Council's Website.
  • Interested in the Australia market? Here's another link, too.
  • South Africa's olive oil production and market seems to be on the rise, too. Check out this site.
  • And of course, check out The Olive Source for tips and leads on sourcing and markets.
  • Worldwide olive oil news-u-can-use, at Olives101.com.
  • Networking possibilities, guidance on labeling, and other facts abound at the North American Olive Oil Association's Website. Did you know that American consumption of olive oil has grown nine-fold since 1982? (From 8.5 million gallons to 74 million gallons.)
  • Everything you need to know, from the California olive experts at UC Davis.
How about a franchise?
Check out: Oil & Vinegar, a Dutch-based retailer whose franchise operations are growing in the U.S., with stores in Illinois, Montana, Texas, Washington, and Virginia.

If you have a good link to suggest, please post it in the comments on this post, and I'll link to it. Thanks! -- Costas

For the first time in history, well actually the second time), Greek olive oil meets with affiliate marketing. We've been in business for over 100 years and are now taking our extrissimo, Pelloponesian olive oil from the refinery directly to the consumer. No months in transit, no middleman, no tampering. See how you can shield yourself from the 'supposedly' extra virgin oil and get rewarded by visiting our affiliate website. http://www.oliveoilgoesmlm.biz

Oilerie said...

Hello Costas,

Oilerie in Fish Creek Wisconsin is the first store of it's kind in America and also the largest single store retailer of evoo and aged Balsamics in the US.

You asked in another post why Wisconsin and Illinois are the hot beds of activity right now and it is because of us.

I would like to point out that both Oilerie and Olive Oil Bar are registered Trademarks of Curt's Spice Co. & Oilerie, LLC of Fish Creek, Wisconsin.

We are now selling franchises of Oilerie and more info will be available at Oilerie.com

Our oils and 25 year old Balsamic are exclusive to Oilerie and are NOT availabel through any other channel.

Thanks!

Curt,

Thanks for telling us a little bit more about the Oilerie! If you could email me at costasthegreek(at)gmail(dot)com, I would like to learn more about your company, and perhaps write more about it on my blog. If you haven't noticed, I've also set up a social network for ILOVEOLIVEOIL, on Ning. Check out http://iloveoliveoil.ning.com. I'm hoping to bring more olive oil producers and sellers together with the discerning consumers who read "ILOO." -Costas
